SHANGHAI, CHINA — 9 APRIL — Royal Drift Series today announced a new collaboration with Race Data Labs to introduce the Wally Drift Telemetry System as part of the championship’s sporting and broadcast environment for the 2026 season.
Through this collaboration, Royal Drift Series will integrate Wally into event operations as an advanced telemetry, replay, and judging-support platform designed to give officials, drivers, teams, and fans deeper visibility into every run. The system records vehicle movement with centimeter-level precision and enables detailed 3D replay analysis, including line, initiation, angle, proximity, and track-limit review.
As Royal Drift Series builds a new international championship platform in China, the introduction of Wally marks another step in the series’ commitment to modern officiating, stronger competitive transparency, and a more data-rich experience for participants and spectators alike. Royal Drift Series publicly positions the championship as a new international drifting series in China with five rounds in 2026 and a $1,000,000 season prize fund.
Wally will be used to support the competition process by providing judges and officials with precise reference tools during and after runs, while preserving the role of the official judging panel in determining sporting outcomes. In parallel, the system will create new opportunities for teams and drivers to review performance more accurately and for broadcasters and digital platforms to present drifting in a more visual, understandable, and engaging format.
